NVAR's 2016 Accomplishments Offer Return on Membership Investment

Delivering value to create loyalty applies not only to Realtors® -- as discussed in this issue’s cover article on page 26; delivering value also pertains to the work that NVAR undertakes to support you, your clients, the Northern Virginia community, and the broader Realtor® family. 

In this, my last column as your Chairman of the Board, I’d like to share a few of of NVAR’s many 2016 accomplishments that demonstrate value delivered by your association:
 
• Instilled NVAR’s Strategic Plan into all aspects of association activities
• Created collaborative partnerships with neighboring associations to advocate for Realtors® on a regional basis
• Strengthened the philanthropic outreach of our NVAR Cares committee 
• Developed new programs and courses in support of the organization’s strategic goals
• Produced an improved and expanded Annual Convention & Trade Show
• Furthered our global reach by 
   o Achieving the NAR Platinum Global Achievement Award
   o Creating the NVAR Global network
   o Representing NVAR and NAR internationally
   o Increasing the number of NVAR members who serve as NAR President’s Liaisons      to other countries
• Encouraged the progression of volunteer leaders and staff to higher levels of service within Realtor® and affiliated business organizations.

These are just some of our 2016 highlights that demonstrate NVAR’s commitment to excellence. All of the achievements outlined, and many others, were developed to fine-tune an already successful association that you, our members, can rely on as an essential business resource. An association that you’ll return to often for programming, education, networking, leadership opportunities, and much more. One that you’ll recommend to your colleagues as a valued organization that will help them succeed.

Thank you for being a part of NVAR. I appreciate the support that I received from many of you and from the NVAR staff over this past year and beyond. I am confident that Bob Adamson, our 2017 Chairman, will continue to work with you, the staff, and his leadership team to ‘Take NVAR Even Further!’
