Let Your Voice Be Heard!

As a committee or advisory group member, you have a say in matters affecting your industry. Your insight shapes how NVAR delivers value to its members and how Realtors® deliver value to their clients.

2025 Committee Applications are now closed.
Those who applied will receive appointments this fall.

Get Involved: Make an Impact

Committees, advisory groups, and forum advisory teams help bridge the gap between the association and our members — allowing us to work together to meet the needs of NVAR’s membership. As a volunteer leader, your input helps enhance the member experience, and your dedication is instrumental to the success of Northern Virginia Realtors®.

How are members selected? Leadership applicants must submit an application. To learn more about the Board of Directors nomination process, which takes place in June of each year, click here. The NVAR President, who is an elected volunteer member, then appoints candidates to selected leadership roles.

Committees, Groups, & Forums

Member Interest Groups

These are groups of members who have a shared interest in topics in the Northern Virginia marketplace. Each group has appointed leaders and a leadership group known as an “Advisory Team.”

Governance Leadership Committees

These committees work on Association-specific Governance and Leadership issues. They have appointed leaders and members.

Leadership Opportunities

Although committees, advisory groups, and forum advisory teams have the same application process, they differ in their goals. Committees and advisory groups recommend policy to NVAR’s Board of Directors. Forum advisory teams help plan our forum events, which include networking opportunities, professional development, educational programs, and more. Any member can attend a forum event, but you must apply to be part of the advisory team that plans those events.

*Please note that some volunteer groups require prerequisites, which are outlined in the descriptions below, and each appointment serves a one-year term for the following calendar year
