NVAR Global

In early 2016, NVAR created NVAR Global which is a new member service, a reorganized composition of the former NVAR international activities, and NVAR created a new leadership body to oversee all of its globally focused activities.

The scope and breadth of the ethnic and cultural diversity in Northern Virginia is often best reflected in the public school profiles where students from up to 200 different countries around the globe populate the local classrooms. The U.S. Census reports that in Northern Virginia, almost a third of the population was born outside the United States and that almost 40% of the Northern Virginia region’s population uses a language other than English when they are at home. Annually almost 10,000 non-U.S. citizens moved into the Northern Virginia area from a location outside the U.S. Serving such an evolving community with an ever growing, ever changing cultural landscape requires that NVAR must adapt and change to capitalize on the opportunities that our Realtors® and brokers find in the marketplace.

With that in mind, NVAR has created a new branded member service that aggregates all its current international-focused activities under one large umbrella program. Forming strategic alliances with sister organizations around the globe in which common goals are identified and complementary services rendered, allows NVAR to distinctively position itself as a unique showcase association among the 1,400 Realtor® associations and to fully respond to the international character of Northern Virginia and to reflect the attractiveness of the greater Washington, DC area. With an expanded use of internet, social media, and its technology-driven tools, NVAR can easily position itself to provide strengthened marketing messages, content resources, navigation tools, and a culturally-driven understanding of Northern Virginia as the prime upscale bedroom community for incoming international home buyers – all of which advances the success of our members.
