About Ryan
Ryan McLaughlin is CEO of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® (NVAR), one of the largest regional Realtor Associations in the United States with approximately 13,000 real estate professionals who transact over $15 billion in sales annually in the Washington, D.C. metro area. As CEO, McLaughlin oversees a 32-person staff in two locations, as well as a Realtor® school and store.
Formerly the CEO of the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors® in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, McLaughlin was named one of the 2013 “40 Under 40” regional business leaders by Lehigh Valley Business. He was a member of the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners from 2009 to 2015, serving as its President in 2015.
McLaughlin received the 2015 Association Executive “Leaders of Tomorrow” Young Professionals Award from the National Association of Realtors® (NAR), America’s largest trade association with more than one million members. In 2015, McLaughlin was inducted into NAR’s Dr. Almon R. (Bud) Smith, RCE, AE Leadership Society. He earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives, and the Realtor® Association Certified Executive (RCE) designation from the National Association of Realtors®. McLaughlin serves as Vice Chair of the NAR Association Executives Committee in 2021.
A graduate of the Leadership Fairfax Institute, devoted to the development of business, nonprofit and public sector leaders with vision and commitment, McLaughlin also serves on the board of directors of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce. In 2020, McLaughlin was included in Virginia Business magazine’s Virginia 500 – Power List, as one of the state’s most powerful and influential leaders in the Real Estate category.
A graduate of East Stroudsburg University, McLaughlin also earned a Master’s degree in political science from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the State University of New York at Albany.
McLaughlin lives with his wife and three children in Northern Virginia.
