What is the NAR Global Ambassador Program?

The purpose of the NAR Global Ambassador Program is to build and maintain Realtor® relationships worldwide. NAR has partnerships with more than 100 international organizations that share the same real estate objectives. The goal is to ensure that real estate professionals all over the globe have the proper tools to succeed. These international organizations are known as NAR’s Bilateral Partners from around the world and represent 76 different countries! NAR Global categorized its Bilateral Partners into five regions:
- North America, Central America, and the Caribbean
- South America
- Asia/Pacific
- Western Europe
- Central/Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa
Each region is overseen by a Global Coordinator appointed by the NAR president each year and maintains contact with the global ambassadors within their assigned area.
Global Ambassadors help maintain NAR's relationships with international real estate associations and organizations, also known as Ambassador Associations.
Ambassador Associations are like “Sister Cities” in that they are a broad-based, long-term partnership between two communities in two countries, but at an association/industry level as opposed to a relationship with a country’s government.
The NAR Ambassador Program is a two-way street:
- It expands the real estate industry worldwide to help Realtors® grow their business internationally and ensure Realtors® have an edge.
- To help developing nations grow and establish the real estate industry with Realtor® standards of excellence.
NAR Global Achievement
NAR recognizes associations that go above and beyond in their efforts to expand their global reach. More specifically, associations are evaluated in five focus areas:
- Business Plan
- Marketing & Communication
- Events/Education
- Outreach
- Benchmarking
These associations are referred to as “Global Councils” and are awarded status classifications for their global activities, from Silver to the prestigious Diamond Council Award.
To achieve platinum status, associations must demonstrate a high level of achievement in the five areas listed above. Some of the many ways for recognition is earned NAR in their global performance include: having a variety of involved and dedicated cultural forums, hosting educational and networking events to promote global knowledge and engagement, establishing and maintaining relationships with international organizations.
To achieve the prestigious Diamond Council Award, Global Councils must achieve Platinum Status for five consecutive years. On the sixth year of earning platinum, the council will be awarded the Diamond status for their global achievement.
NVAR was recognized with the status of Diamond Council for its Global achievements in 2021 after having achieved Platinum six years in a row. We are proud to be one of twelve associations recognized as a Diamond Council.
It won’t stop there for NVAR Global, as we fully intend to maintain our Diamond Council status, which is reevaluated every other year. We will continue to expand our international reach and positively impact global real estate.
