Forums, Advisory Groups, and Committees bridge the gap between the Association and our members — allowing us to work together to meet the needs of NVAR’s membership. As a volunteer leader, your input helps enhance the member experience, and your dedication is instrumental to the success of Realtors® in Northern Virginia.
How to Apply
Applications to join an NVAR Forum, Advisory Group, or Committee are open July 1 through August 31. Appointment selections are decided by the NVAR President and Board of Directors and are announced in December. Committee service runs with the calendar year.
About
Although Forums, Advisory Groups, and Committees have the same application process, they differ in their goals. Committees and Advisory Groups recommend policy to NVAR’s Board of Directors. Forums help plan our forum events, which include networking opportunities, professional development, educational programs, and more. Forum events are open to all members.

Ambassador Program
Application Period: July 1 – August 31
Open to all NVAR Members! The Ambassador Program is a unique opportunity for members to serve as representatives of the Association and promote upcoming NVAR events and benefits. NVAR Ambassadors serve as a collective group of enthusiastic members working together to increase member engagement.

Leadership Institute
Applications Open in the Fall
The role of the NVAR Leadership Institute is to prepare interested members for a future in volunteer leadership within the Realtor® association environment. Realtor® members with demonstrated leadership abilities who are passionate about the industry are encouraged to apply. NVAR offers accepted members an opportunity to participate in this year-long program, which provides participants with the skills and knowledge they will need to become effective leaders for our Association.

Board of Directors
NVAR’s mission is to elevate our members’ businesses by providing exceptional value, driving innovation, and impacting the industry. The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association, responsible for Strategy, Policy & Oversight. There are 16 members of the Board: 12 at-large, 3 appointed, 1 immediate past President.
