For decades, the NVAR Board of Directors have been exploring ways to better engage expanding marketplace segments of NVAR membership, as well as identify potential future leaders from growing cultural groups within NVAR membership.
Over the years, several heavily represented cultural groups were identified. As a result, the NVAR Board created a variety of cultural forums to bring together members who have a shared interest in topics in the Northern Virginia real estate .marketplace. Current NVAR cultural forums include Hispanic, Vietnamese, and Korean. According to data from the National Association of Realtors®, African Americans represent the third largest demographic by race within NVAR’s membership.
NVAR is interested in creating a new African American Forum to expand opportunities for this cultural group to be involved in planning and executing of relevant events for the African American Realtor® community and NVAR membership as a whole. The mission of the NVAR African American Realtor® Forum Advisory Group aligns with NVAR’s Vision 100 Strategic Plan.
