MOLD (1 hour)
Molds exist everywhere. When they are concentrated damage to materials can occur, health can be affected. Some people react differently than others. Almost every house has some small concentration of mold somewhere without effect. People are much more aware that some molds can cause damage or affect health and they want to know about it in their homes. Insurance companies sense that claims can result from mold and set high standards for testing and remediation, even if there isn’t any significant mold present. This goes hand-in-hand with grow ops, and yet, many more homes than grow ops have unacceptable mold levels.

This course will teach you:
  • Some of the characteristics of mold, how it grows, and sources.
  • How to control mold
  • Some methods of cleaning it and remediating
  • How to put this into perspective for a client

PREPARING FOR THE UNEXPECTED (1 hour)
Most homeowners and Realtors® dread the fact that the offer to purchase contains a clause requiring a “satisfactory” home inspection as a condition of purchase. The fear stems from the anticipation that the home inspector will find conditions in the home that could compromise or ruin the deal.

The purpose of this presentation is to make you aware of steps that can be taken to prepare a home for sale and how to set the expectations for their buyers. The presentation will help you understand the anatomy of a home and discuss potential defects and concerns that may arise during a home inspection and how to handle these situations.

This course will teach you:

  • How to prepare the home and the seller and/or buyer
  • The importance of protecting the purchasers and Realtors® from undisclosed defects.
  • How to choose a qualified home inspector.
