In 2016, NVAR created NVAR Global, a reorganized composition of the former NVAR international activities, and with it a new leadership body to oversee all of its globally focused functions. 

Almost a third of the local population was born outside the United States and almost 40% of the Northern Virginia region’s population uses a language other than English when they are at home. Serving such an evolving community cultural landscape requires that NVAR adapt and change to capitalize on the opportunities that our Realtors® and brokers find in the marketplace.  

Partnering with international organizations allows NVAR to distinctively position itself as a unique showcase association among the 1,400 Realtor® associations and to fully respond to the international character of Northern Virginia.
