What is a Realtor®?

The word Realtor® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional as a member of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). Realtors® have a three-way membership with their national, state and local association.

The Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® (NVAR) serves over 12,000 state-licensed real estate professionals as their local Realtor® association. As a voluntary trade association, NVAR develops and maintains rules that go beyond the minimum standards required by law. NVAR members are committed to working together to create a higher standard of integrity and service for the industry.
