The National Building Museum’s First-Time Homebuyer Fair [Offsite]

The goals for the Fair are as follows:
  •  To convene local Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia housing experts to provide education and resources on first-time homeownership. Create an interactive experience with motivational speakers, lightning talks and information sessions. 
  •     To strengthen communities of historic disinvestment & expand economic mobility. 
  •  To connect local DMV residents to certified and bilingual housing counselors.  
  •  To educate & counsel on personal finance, managing credit, the role of the lender, working with a real estate agent, home inspections, and closing day. 
  •  Share resources on the Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP), which provides financial assistance with down payment and closing cost funds for the purchase of a home in Washington, DC. 
  •  To speak with representatives from each sector: broker, real estate agent, recent first time homeowner, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, Federal Housing Finance Agency.
