Be a part of your government! NVAR offers many opportunities throughout the year for you to play a part in protecting private property rights and your business. From lobbying elected officials in Richmond, to sharing a laugh over breakfast, NVAR’s Government Affairs events give you the chance to interact with and support the elected officials who vote in favor of real estate-friendly laws and regulations.

Trip to Richmond
Early January/Late February
Make your voice heard! Held during the Virginia Legislative Session, the annual trip to Richmond lets you flex your lobbying muscles and tell your Delegates and Senators what you think about the legislation they are considering. Intimidated by lobbying? Don’t worry – you’ll get a crash course in Lobbying 101 on your way down to the state capitol. A briefing on the issues and talking points will help you understand the process and why your voice is so important.

NV/RPAC Silent Auction
Early April
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Or is it pearls? Maybe you’d prefer to sail down the Chesapeake rather than being adorned by jewels. Whatever luxuries you desire, you can find them at the annual NV/RPAC Silent Auction at the Million Dollar Dinner Dance. All proceeds help support the elected officials who support you.

Legislative Reception
Mid-April
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Who doesn’t love to be thanked for their hard work? The legislative reception is your opportunity to thank your elected officials in person for their support of real estate-friendly legislation. Held after the Virginia Legislative Session, local and state elected officials are invited to NVAR for a cocktail reception giving you the perfect opportunity to talk shop with those who can make a difference.

Candidates Rally
Late Summer
Get out and vote! Without your votes, our local and state governments could be filled with representatives who are against real estate-friendly legislation. Held every four years before elections, the rally is our chance to drum-up excitement about the candidates who support pro-REALTOR® initiatives.

NV/RPAC Breakfast
October
Have you every shared your morning coffee with your Representative from the U.S. Congress? What about the Lieutenant Governor? Join fellow NV/RPAC contributors for this relaxed breakfast before the NVAR annual convention for your chance to mingle with some of Virginia’s most influential leaders. The program includes a keynote address by a nationally acclaimed political commentator and a full-service breakfast to start your day.
