NVAR Announces 2011 Leadership Slate,
Hall of Fame and Honorary Life Membership Award Winners
Fairfax, VA – Culminating a year of cautious optimism, the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors®, led by Vinh Nguyen, 2010 Chairman of the Board, hosted its annual appreciation and installation ceremony, at which the 2011 leadership team was inducted and 2010 leaders were lauded. Karen Trainor, managing broker of Weichert Realtors® in Ashburn, was installed as the 2011 Chairman of the Board.
“My top goal for 2010 was to help Northern Virginia Realtors® usher in a comeback of this region’s economy,” said Nguyen to an audience of 275 guests at the Hyatt Regency in Reston on Thursday, Dec. 9.
“We did have a comeback for affordability, average sales prices and sustainable mortgage products, but there is still work to be done,” Nguyen said. ” I am confident that my successor, Karen Trainor, has the vision and fortitude to lead us to a strong finish in 2011.”
NVAR congratulates Karen Trainor as the 2011 NVAR Chairman of the Board, who begins her tenure on January 1.
“Vinh’s year as our 2010 Chairman of the Board resulted in many successes, capped by the move to our own home,” said Christine Todd, NVAR CEO. “This year’s positives – from the first-time homebuyer tax credit, our green headquarters groundbreaking, and our first-ever green conference –are just a few of his highlights. By every measure, Vinh’s chairmanship symbolizes a great beginning from our new home base.
“We are absolutely certain that under Karen’s leadership, our progress will continue as our local market and the national recovery track favorably in 2011,” Todd said.
